Macaroni Sandwich | Sandwich using Sprig Aioli

What is Macaroni Sandwich?

Macaroni sandwich is a delish and filling sandwich that has, as the name suggests, the stuffing of macaroni, which is “oh so creamy and flavorsome”. The best part about this recipe is that with some boiled pasta (elbow pasta is what I used) in hand you can fix this sandwich within 10 minutes. The macaroni is cooked with aioli, butter, and cheese spread in the microwave for a minute or two. The same is sandwiched between two bread slices which have a layer of butter and aioli that makes the sandwich perfectly moist and delectable. There are a number of ways in which macaroni for the macaroni sandwiches can be prepared. However, I find this recipe very easy and absolutely toothsome. The macaroni sandwiches can be prepared for breakfast or a light meal, and depending on the weather the same can be teamed with a bowl of hot soup or a glass of chilled milkshake.

What is Aioli?

Well, what is Aioli? If I can put it in my own words I would say it is the garlicky cousin of Mayonnaise.  Aioli is an emulsion of olive oil, egg yolks, and mustard with a lot of garlic, and traditionally it is prepared with the use of mortar pestle. So to understand the difference between mayonnaise and aioli, we can say that mayonnaise is prepared using canola oil whereas aioli calls for olive oil. Garlic is a very important ingredient for aioli and is often seen as the main difference between aioli and mayonnaise. Also, traditionally Aioli is prepared in a mortar pestle instead of blending. That more or less sums it up.

Why Sprig Aioli?

Sprig Aioli has a perfect balance of flavors. The best part is that is not just garlicky, it has some heat, which takes it to another level. Just a spoonful of Sprig Aioli can enhance your dish.macaroni sandwich

How to use Aioli?

In Mediterranean cuisine, Aioli is served as a dip or sauce along with fish, meat, etc. However, the use of Aioli can be extended to sandwiches, burgers, pasta, salads, and more.macaroni sandwich

Hi! I am CA Vini Mehta. A Chartered Accountant by profession, a food blogger by passion! First of all, I would like to thank you for stopping by at Viniscookbook, I hope you have a good time. Here, yo...u will find the recipes which have been tried, at times re-tried in my kitchen and relished on the dining table. I am mother of two kids and the wife of a person with a high and selective taste sense, so basically anything, before finding its place on the blog, has many levels to cross and clear. This journey started a couple of years back. Before that I was making the most usual kind of food. The only experiment used to be asking my mother how to make something new or different☺. Then, one day, I tried a recipe for butter cookies. And they did not get to go in the container as they were over before I could store them. That day I was introduced to the joy of experimenting with recipes. And I loved everything else that followed especially garnishing and photographing food. I am still not well versed with the photography dos and don’ts but I love to experiment and learn, be it photography or cooking. Hope you too enjoy this journey as much as I do☺! Stay healthy, stay tuned!.
