What is Chili Cheese Toast?

Bread slice toasted till absolutely crisp and crunchy, topped with cheese, cooked till that cheese melts, further given the kick of chili flakes, makes a toast you can never say no to, chilli cheese toast. The best part about this toast recipe is that it is very easy and simple to make and is ready in less than 10 minutes. Chilli cheese toast can be prepared for breakfast, or tea time or for sudden hunger pangs.

Ingredients and Substitutes

Bread: You can use any bread of your choice. However, I found garlic bread really works great for this recipe.
Butter and Mayonnaise: A mix of butter and mayonnaise is applied on the bread slices. Applying butter on the slices makes them soft and juicy. If you haven’t used garlic bread, you can use garlic butter and add a hint of garlic in your chili cheese toast. Further you cal use any flavored mayonnaise for more taste.
Cheese: The toast has to be topped with cheese, a lot of that. I had processed cheese and therefore I have used that. You can use mozzarella, cheddar, etc. And if you haven’t used garlic bread or garlic butter, you can add in little garlic in the cheese.
Chili Flakes: For the flavor of chilli, I have used chili flakes. You can also add bell peppers, sweet corn, etc. I personally do not like the use of green chilies in this recipe and therefore I have not used the same. You can also flavor the toast with mixed herbs. But since these are chilli cheese toast, I don’t add any other overpowering flavoring agent.chilli cheese toast

Hi! I am CA Vini Mehta. A Chartered Accountant by profession, a food blogger by passion! First of all, I would like to thank you for stopping by at Viniscookbook, I hope you have a good time. Here, yo...u will find the recipes which have been tried, at times re-tried in my kitchen and relished on the dining table. I am mother of two kids and the wife of a person with a high and selective taste sense, so basically anything, before finding its place on the blog, has many levels to cross and clear. This journey started a couple of years back. Before that I was making the most usual kind of food. The only experiment used to be asking my mother how to make something new or different☺. Then, one day, I tried a recipe for butter cookies. And they did not get to go in the container as they were over before I could store them. That day I was introduced to the joy of experimenting with recipes. And I loved everything else that followed especially garnishing and photographing food. I am still not well versed with the photography dos and don’ts but I love to experiment and learn, be it photography or cooking. Hope you too enjoy this journey as much as I do☺! Stay healthy, stay tuned!.
