Instant Rava Uttapam – According to Wikipedia Uttapam is a dosa-like dish from South India made by cooking ingredients in a batter. Unlike a dosa, which is crisp and crepe-like, Uttapam is a thick pancake, with toppings cooked right into the batter.
According to Vinipedia
A pancake loaded with lots of vegetables made of semolina (rava) instead of soaked and grounded rice and dal! A shortcut to the regular uttapam, a shortcut to health!
P.S. I did not pick the word “pancakes” from Wiki’s definition. If you are new here, hey! Why so? Where have you been all this while? Keep visiting. Yeah so if you are new here, you might not know but the regular visitors know that I read Wiki’s version at the end of the write up. So there is no chance of copying him. Well it is a very simple recipe… so simple that I wasn’t too sure whether I should put it up or not. Also I am not very happy with the pictures of dish. Still I am going ahead with this.
The base…has semolina and curd. I have seasoned it with black pepper. You may also use ginger, green chillies etc.
The toppings… bring it on. Add or omit vegetables as per your choice. I have used onions, tomatoes, cabbage, carrot, peas, and lots of coriander.
You can also add some grated cheese to please to little ones in the house. Well why just the little ones? Cheese pleases everyone.
