Jaljeera is flavored water prepared using a number of ingredients such as black salt, cumin powder, mint powder, black pepper powder, dry ginger powder, citric acid, asafetida, and salt or rock salt. It is one of the best coolers in India. If you are preparing a veg menu for dinner, Jaljeera topped with some salted boondi can be served as an appetizer to the guests. I always prepare Jaljeera powder at home and make this Indian recipe for cooler in no time.
There is a list of ingredients used for making Jaljeera and each has lots of health benefits. Mint powder and cumin powder are used in the maximum quantity. Salt, both the salts have been used; black salt as well as the regular cooking salt. I recently studied the benefits of using rock salt. And since then I have been using rock salt for cooking. Here is a detailed article on rock salt you might like. Let’s have a look at the ingredients for Jaljeera recipe:
Mint powder and cumin powder: Mint leaves are dried and then crushed or grinded to make mint powder. Cumin seeds are roasted on low flame and grinded and used. Benefits of cumin seeds are known to one and all and therefore it is a good practice to include it in our diet in one or the other way.
Salt: I have used rock salt and black salt for this recipe.
Other ingredients: Black pepper powder, citric acid, asafetida, and dry mango powder are the other ingredients used.
