What is Kachchi Lassi?
Kachchi Lassi is a very light and refreshing beverage made using milk, water, sugar, rose syrup and ice. It is very simple to make and has wonderful cooling effect. It is perfect to beat the heat. The best part about this drink is that it is very light. You can easily have more than 1 glass at a time.

The ingredients required are very simple and easily available. I have seen quite some recipes for Kachchi Lassi. Each uses a different proportion of milk and water. Here I have given the recipe for Kachchi Lassi which my mom has followed all her life and we have loved it and of course HER. I have used bhoora shakkar instead of regular sugar because that is said to have cooling effects. You may use the regular sugar.

Ingredients for Kachchi Lassi
- 1/3 cup milk
- 2/3 cup water
- 1 tbsp bhoora shakkar or powdered sugar
- 2 tbsp rose syrup
- Ice as required
How to make Kachchi Lassi
1. Add all ingredients except ice in a tall utensil
In a tall utensil or pateela add 1/3 cup milk, 2/3 cup water, 1 tbsp sugar and 2 tbsp rose syrup.
2. Blend everything well
Blend everything using a hand blender or balloon whisk or madhaani. Taste and check the sweetness.
3. Add ice cubes
In a glass, add some ice cubes. Pour Kachchi lassi.
4. Bon appétit
Serve Kachchi lassi chilled.
- Ice reduces the sweetness of Kachchi Lassi so while tasting ensure it is sweeter than you like.
- You may garnish the Kachchi Lassi with chopped pistachios.
