Achar and chutneys are indispensable part of Indiain cuisine. Kacchi haldi ka achar recipe is the simplest pickle recipe possible. So simple that I was in doubts about whether I should post it or not. But then I realized through simple it’s not all the popular and looking at the goodness of this pickle I believe it deserves to be shared. The instant fresh turmeric pickle is the best way one can include fresh turmeric in his/her diet. Slice of fresh turmeric with the kick of fresh lemon is kacchi haldi ka achar.

Let’s talk about the ingredients for kachi haldi ka achar

Kacchi haldi ka achaar recipe calls for fresh turmeric and lemon is all you need. When I prepared this pickle I was not sure whether I would relish it or not as I find the taste of fresh turmeric too sharp but soaked in lemon the turmeric loses its sharpness and tastes wonderful. In fact we did not wait for 6 hours of resting also, instead started enjoying this pickle as and when it was prepared.

 

How To Make Kacchi Haldi Ka Achaar

1. Collect 250 g fresh turmeric, 1/2 cup lemon juice, salt to taste and a pinch of asafoetida.

2. Mix everything well

3. Allow the pickle to rest for 6-8 hours at the room temperature.

4. Bon appetit: Serve with methi ka thepla or any other parathas or meals. Keep it refrigerated. It shall stay good for 1 week.
