What is Garlic Butter?

Garlic butter is the butter with the perfect balance of buttery and garlicky flavors, making it such a mild yet flavorsome spread for many recipes such as garlic bread, garlic breadsticks, garlic pull-apart bread, etc. The best part about this recipe is the balance of flavors and the consistency of garlic butter. The butter has an absolutely spreadable consistency in spite of being refrigerated. The reason shall be discussed in the ingredients section. Garlic butter can be used for many bread recipes as well as to add oomph to dal and gravies etc.

Let’s talk about the ingredients for Garlic Butter recipe

Garlic butter as the name suggests calls for garlic and butter. But there is a secret ingredient which does a lot of magic. The secret ingredient is oil. Oil is added in equal quantity as the butter. Oil does two things. It maintains the consistency of the garlic butter even though the butter is kept in the fridge, it remains smooth and usable. Secondly, oil doesn’t let the flavor of butter overpower. As a result, there is profound garlic flavor. And the garlic butter has a total balance of the aromas. Let’s see what all are the ingredients required to make Garlic Butter.

Butter: I have used the salted butter by Amul for this recipe. You can use any butter of your choice.

Oil: Oil and butter are combined in the same ratio. Oil should be added before adding butter; this prevents the butter from getting burnt.

Garlic: The quantity of garlic can be adjusted as per taste but if the recipe is followed till T you will get perfectly balanced garlic butter.

Flavors: Chopped coriander and Italian seasoning have been used to flavor garlic butter. You can use the herbs of your choice.

Hi! I am CA Vini Mehta. A Chartered Accountant by profession, a food blogger by passion! First of all, I would like to thank you for stopping by at Viniscookbook, I hope you have a good time. Here, yo...u will find the recipes which have been tried, at times re-tried in my kitchen and relished on the dining table. I am mother of two kids and the wife of a person with a high and selective taste sense, so basically anything, before finding its place on the blog, has many levels to cross and clear. This journey started a couple of years back. Before that I was making the most usual kind of food. The only experiment used to be asking my mother how to make something new or different☺. Then, one day, I tried a recipe for butter cookies. And they did not get to go in the container as they were over before I could store them. That day I was introduced to the joy of experimenting with recipes. And I loved everything else that followed especially garnishing and photographing food. I am still not well versed with the photography dos and don’ts but I love to experiment and learn, be it photography or cooking. Hope you too enjoy this journey as much as I do☺! Stay healthy, stay tuned!.
