Stuffed Appe Recipe | How to make Stuffed Appe | Paniyaram Recipe

Stuffed Appe Recipe – Appe/ Paniyaram is a popular south Indian breakfast, known by different names. Appe are prepared by steaming the idli dosa batter in a special pan. They are crunchy from outside and soft and spongy from inside. Today I am sharing a recipe for instant appe made using semolina (sooji). This appe have been stuffed with a delicious potato stuffing.

You can add vegetable such as peas, carrot, capsicum, onion, tomato etc to the batter. You can flavour it with ginger, chillies, curry leaves etc.

Well I have kept it very simple. It so happened that I woke up with a mood to make bread rolls for breakfast. I prepared the stuffing and opened the refrigerator to realise that there was no bread. Paneer paranthas were the last meal served. So I knew aloo parantha won’t work. I did not want to make anything deep fried such as samosa or aloo bonda. So basically it was a tight situation. Then I thought of making appe with the potato stuffing.
