What is Papdi Chaat Recipe?

Papdi is a crispy and flaky deep fried savory goodie made using all purpose flour flavoured. Papdi can be taken to another level by adding yogurt and chutneys and few more ingredients and converting to papdi chaat. It is practice at my place to prepare and stock some papdi and use them to make papdi chaat and settle the hunger pangs. Papdi makes a good accompaniment for tea. Do try this recipe as it is a

Let’s talk about the Ingredients for Papdi for Chaat

Papdi recipe calls for

all purpose flour: for absolutely flaky and crispy papdi, use all purpose flour.
other ingredients: include oil and salt. you can add carom seeds.

How To Make Papdi For Chaat

1. In a large plate or bowl add 1 cup all-purpose flour (maida), 2 tbsp semolina (sooji) and salt to taste

2. Mix

3. Add 2 tbsp oil and mix well

4. Gradually add water

5. Knead semi stiff dough, as for poori

6. Cover it with cloth and keep aside for 15-20 minutes

7. Again knead the dough for 1-2 minutes

8. Dough is ready

9. Take a portion of dough and roll it, slightly thicker than chapati

10. Take a foke and poke

11. Use a cookie cutter to shape papdi. You can use cap of any bottle/container instead of cookie cutter

12. Papdi is ready for frying

13. Heat oil in a frying pan for frying the papdi, preferably a flat botom pan. I did not had one

14. Add papdi in moderately hot oil

15. Fry on low flame

16. Flip for uniform frying

17. Fry till golden brown
