Momos Chutney Recipe | How to Make Momos Chutney

What is Momos Chutney?

The spicy and pungent red chutney served with momo is the momos chutney. Generally, veg momos are mildly spiced and are therefore served with a sharp chutney. Momo chutney is prepared with garlic, red chilli, and tomatoes. It is basically a tomato chutney with the heat of red chilli and pungency of garlic. One day, in a rush I packed momos chutney instead of red chutney for dosa, with vegetable uttapam for Amy’s tiffin. But she came back super happy. Believe me, this momos chutney not only completes the veg  momos but also complements other snacks such as pakoda, sandwich and even South Indian delicacies.

Let’s talk about the ingredients for Momos Chutney recipe:

This is a very simple and easy momos chutney recipe. It calls for a handful of ingredients. Red chutney is such a common accompaniment. And there are different red chutneys for different snacks. Red chutney for chaat, red chutney for dosa and the red chutney for momos! This red chutney recipe calls for the following:

Tomatoes: This is a tomato chutney. However, use the salad tomato for this red chutney recipe. The tangier tomatoes might imbalance the taste.

Red Chili: Whole and dried red chilies have been used. I always remove the seeds of the chilies. You can skip doing so. Further, I have used 2 red chilies for 2 tomatoes. You can add more chilies for a hotter chutney.

Other ingredients: Garlic, salt, black pepper powder, and sugar have also been added.

Hi! I am CA Vini Mehta. A Chartered Accountant by profession, a food blogger by passion! First of all, I would like to thank you for stopping by at Viniscookbook, I hope you have a good time. Here, yo...u will find the recipes which have been tried, at times re-tried in my kitchen and relished on the dining table. I am mother of two kids and the wife of a person with a high and selective taste sense, so basically anything, before finding its place on the blog, has many levels to cross and clear. This journey started a couple of years back. Before that I was making the most usual kind of food. The only experiment used to be asking my mother how to make something new or different☺. Then, one day, I tried a recipe for butter cookies. And they did not get to go in the container as they were over before I could store them. That day I was introduced to the joy of experimenting with recipes. And I loved everything else that followed especially garnishing and photographing food. I am still not well versed with the photography dos and don’ts but I love to experiment and learn, be it photography or cooking. Hope you too enjoy this journey as much as I do☺! Stay healthy, stay tuned!.
