What are Milk Oats?

Rolled oats cooked in milk with some sugar, flavoured with cardamom are milk oats. Milk oats is a quick, easy and healthy breakfast recipe. The best part about the milk oats recipe is that it can be prepared for toddlers and because of oats milk benefits it makes a great breakfast option for school going kids.

Milk oats recipe can be prepared using milk or a combination of milk and water. The most critical part about milk oat recipe is the oats to milk ratio. And it depends on the desired consistency. I like to keep the oats to milk ratio as one is to four because I like creamy and thicker milk oat. You can however increase the quantity of milk as per your liking. There is variety of oats available. I have used the rolled oats i.e. the cooking oats. Because of oats milk benefits it can be given to babies. However while preparing for babies it is better to powder the oats. Avoid adding any nuts or hard fruits. Basically avoid any chunky stuff. Milk oat recipe can be prepared with hot or cold milk. How To Make Milk Oats

1. Dry roast ½ cup oats for 2 minutes on a low flame.

2. Add 2 cups milk.

3. Simmer for 4-5 minutes, till milk oat thicken.

4. Add 2 tbsp sugar or as per taste. Let the sugar dissolve.

5. Check the consistency.

6. Add ¼ tsp cardamom (elaichi) powder

7. Serve hot. Bon appétit!
