Malai ladoo is a mildly sweet Indian sweet that is very soft and “melts in the mouth” with the hints of kewra and cardamom. It is made up of cottage cheese (paneer) and condensed milk and is very quick and easy to make. It is ready in no time without any efforts at all. This year I made these for Ganesh Chaturthi and they were loved by my Gannu.
It calls for cottage cheese and condensed milk. For the flavoring, I have used kewra water and cardamom. I always use homemade paneer and condensed milk for this recipe. With few ingredients and very little time, a scrumptious dessert comes into being.
1. Churn paneer : Put 250 g paneer in a mixer. Pulse it once.
2. Cook paneer and condensed milk till done : In a pan add paneer and 1/2 cup condensed milk. Cook on low flame till it leaves sides. Add ½ tsp cardamom powder. Mix.
3. Cool and shape : Take out the mixture in a plate. Let it cool down. Add 2-3 drops of kewra essence and mix. Take a portion and make Ladoo with it.
4. Bon appétit : Garnish with chopped pistachio. Refrigerate for half an hour. Make them for any special occasion.
