How to make Icing Sugar Recipe

Icing sugar is the finest form of sugar. It is used for frosting the cakes, icing the cookies etc. Icing sugar is also known as confectioner’s sugar. It is different from powdered sugar in terms of fineness. Cornstarch is added to make icing sugar. It prevents the icing sugar from caking and crumbling. When my monthly grocery comes… this is the first thing on my “to do list”. How To Make Icing Sugar Recipe. I store it in an airtight container and it remains good till I use it.

You can also try to make coloured sugar at home.

How to make Homemade Powdered Sugar

1. Grind sugar and cornstarch : Take 1 cup granulated sugar and 1 tbsp cornstarch in a blender jar or coffee grinder. Grind the two till you get a fine powder. This will take 5-6 minutes. Stir it after every 2 minutes so each and every grain is well powdered.

2. Sieve icing sugar : Pass icing sugar through a sieve and store in an airtight container.

3. Bon appétit : Use icing sugar for glazing the cookies or frosting the cakes.
