Muthia Recipes | Gujarati Snack | Healthy Dish

Muthia is a Gujarati snack prepared using healthy flours such as gram flour, whole wheat flour, etc and vegetables. It is steamed to cook and can also be fried thereafter. I, however, don’t do that because the steamed version is too tasty, so why increase the calories and reduce the nutrients?! Muthia is tempered with sesame seeds and mustard seeds and can be finished with chopped coriander leaves and lemon juice.

Muthia is a healthy dish because

  • It is prepared by steaming and is therefore easy on the belly.
  • Healthy flours are used, therefore, filling.
  • It is a great way to introduce vegetables in the diet.

Muthia can be served for breakfast

  • Because it keeps you full until the next meal.
  • It can be prepared quickly and easily.
  • It can be customized as per the available ingredients.
  • Muthia is a great tiffin option as it need not be served hot. It tastes totally delectable even after coming to the room temperature or even after a couple of hours for that matter.
