Let’s talk about the ingredients for Cherry on the Churma Recipe

Diwali is around the corner and parties too. Lots of preparations and work has to be done when one is hosting a party. Nothing is more pleasing than easy yet presentable party recipes! Cherry on the churma is one such recipe. Churma has a long shelf life. Mine has always lasted for a week, it would get over by then, otherwise, it would last even longer. And therefore whenever I plan a party I prepare churma in much advance and then this dessert can be fixed in a few minutes. Here is all you need to make Cherry on the Churma:

Churma: Rajasthani churma can be prepared with whole wheat flour or gram flour. For this recipe, I have used the whole wheat flour churma, i.e. the authentic Rajasthani churma. The churma in lose form is required for this recipe instead of ladoo form.

Homemade cream cheese substitute: It is so simple to make the cream cheese substitute in your kitchen with just 2 ingredients. It can be used in so many recipes. Although it doesn’t equate the taste of original cream cheese it costs much less and can be prepared in the desired quantity.

Cherries: I have used canned cherry for this recipe. The cherries have been pureed to a chunky mix and used. Further, the whole cherry was used for the garnish.

Flavoring: Cherries add a lot of flavors and lovely twist to the churma. However, while making the cream cheese lemon zest has been added which adds a lot of freshness to the dessert.

Hi! I am CA Vini Mehta. A Chartered Accountant by profession, a food blogger by passion! First of all, I would like to thank you for stopping by at Viniscookbook, I hope you have a good time. Here, yo...u will find the recipes which have been tried, at times re-tried in my kitchen and relished on the dining table. I am mother of two kids and the wife of a person with a high and selective taste sense, so basically anything, before finding its place on the blog, has many levels to cross and clear. This journey started a couple of years back. Before that I was making the most usual kind of food. The only experiment used to be asking my mother how to make something new or different☺. Then, one day, I tried a recipe for butter cookies. And they did not get to go in the container as they were over before I could store them. That day I was introduced to the joy of experimenting with recipes. And I loved everything else that followed especially garnishing and photographing food. I am still not well versed with the photography dos and don’ts but I love to experiment and learn, be it photography or cooking. Hope you too enjoy this journey as much as I do☺! Stay healthy, stay tuned!.
